Val Bonnett was born in Danbury, Essex and now lives in Suffolk. After qualifying and working as a teacher, Val taught in Adult Education in Chelmsford and Braintree, and studied under Peter White of the Bardfield School of Artists. Val later studied at Colchester Institute to gain a Diploma in Art & Design in the nineties.
She draws from and returns to the theme of anthropomorphism in the landscape and enjoys working from and travelling in her campervan – a studio on wheels.
Val uses mixed media and oil, recording the local light in line, space and colour. She also does mono & screen printing.
